Beautiful Ginkgo Leaf Earrings, made using the impression from real ‘Ginkgo Biloba’ leaves. Glazed in a subtle white shiny glaze with light green shading and platinum lustre detailing.
I use a real Ginkgo Biloba leaves to create the leaf impressions in clay and then form the shapes into a beautiful matching pair of earrings. My Ginkgo Leaf earrings are distinctive and bold, yet feminine with their subtle colours and curves. The ancient leaves are symbolic of longevity and endurance. They are the oldest trees on the planet and can live for over 1 thousand years. This intention is set within the clay when I produce this unique jewellery.
I use porcelain to make each piece, firing to 1020 bisque initially, then 1260 to mature the porcelain and glaze. The third firing allows platinum lustre to mature on the edges and texturing, enhancing the attractive shape of the leaves.
The small sized pair are typically 5.5cm length drop from the top of the loop to the bottom edge of the leaf and 4cm at widest point.
The large sized pair are typically 6.5cm length drop from the top of the loop to the bottom edge of the leaf and 5cm at the widest point.
Each earring is attached with sterling silver loops.
Please sit in a carpeted room when putting your jewellery on (instead of a room with a tiled floor). Porcelain is durable but behaves just as glass or Swarovski crystal, so it will shatter if dropped on a hard surface. Please use a silver cloth to clean your chain to retain its sparkle over time.
Each earring is unique so there will variations on the depth of subtle green tint, shape and platinum detailing, however I aim to match earrings as a pair so they work as a cohesive set. The images above give you an example of a typical pair. If you want a specific depth of colour or variation on shape/size please contact me and I will make a bespoke pair of earrings for you (3-4 weeks delivery).
