Description
My Leaf Sharing Platters with Condiment Bowls certainly make a statement when serving artisan bread & dips, tapas, or displaying a selection of cheeses. Made using real Fig Leaves or Burdock leaves and finished in an attractive rustic mid green glaze with ‘toasted’ edges and veins.
Making Process
Firstly, I use a Fig, Fatsia or Burdock leaf to create the impression in clay and then cut around the shape into a double size platter. A recess is formed for a hand thrown condiment bowl which nestles within the surrounding recess – perfect for olives, hummus and dips. My Leaf Sharing Platters are the perfect way to make an instant, bold impression at your dinner party and can be used for both savoury and sweet dishes – that’s as long as you’re prepared to share!
I use stoneware clay fired to 1260 degrees, making each platter durable for functional purposes. All glazes are dishwasher and food safe. However please read the additional care instructions below.
Product Details
Dimensions: typically 28/29 x 30/32 cm leaf face depending on design (leaf shape chosen), with a depth of approximately 0.7 cm. The condiment bowl is approximately 7x7x7 cm.
Care
Please treat as a bone china plate. Hand wash in order to retain the integrity of the enhanced glaze on the edges. Hand washing will also help to retain the glossy finish on the overall glaze.
