For Gallery Owners and Curators
Sonya Wilkins is a contemporary ceramic artist in the UK creating sculptural, nature-inspired work for gallery representation, exhibitions and curated collections. Sonya produces collectable ceramic artworks that explore the relationship between clay, landscape and human experience, with a focus on materiality, presence and biophilic connection

As part of a wider community of emerging ceramic artists in the UK, my work aligns with a growing movement towards slower, more intentional making. There is increasing interest from galleries in fine art ceramic artists in the UK whose work holds both aesthetic presence and conceptual depth
My MA in Fine Art (Ceramics), combined with my background as a Reiki Master Teacher and holistic practitioner, informs a practice that is both technically considered and intuitively guided. Clay is approached as a responsive material, one that records touch, time and attention
This approach has resonance for curators seeking sculptural ceramic artists whose work sits comfortably within both gallery and domestic contexts. Each piece is created to stand independently as an artwork, while also having the potential to be lived with
There is a growing recognition of collectable ceramic artists whose work bridges the gap between sculpture and function. My vessels are intentionally positioned within this space, where form is prioritised, yet usability remains possible
For galleries considering representation or exhibition, the work offers:
- Cohesive series rooted in nature-inspired themes
- Sculptural pieces suitable for curated exhibitions
- A consistent narrative around clay, landscape and wellbeing
- Alignment with biophilic and material-led design movements

“Clay allows me to explore the quiet relationship between strength and vulnerability. Each piece holds a sense of that balance, shaped slowly and with care”
I am particularly interested in working with galleries who are exploring contemporary clay artists and who value the integration of art, nature and human experience within their exhibitions
If you are seeking ceramic artists for gallery representation, or curating exhibitions around nature, materiality or contemporary craft, I would welcome a conversation

My work sits at the intersection of contemporary ceramics and a quieter, more reflective relationship with nature. As a ceramic artist, my intention is not only to create objects, but to offer forms that hold presence, carry material memory and invite a deeper connection between viewer, environment and self
My practice responds to this through a combination of hand-built sculptural forms, nature-led processes and an ongoing exploration of clay as a communicative medium
